RE: Variations on WHITE
Good. The stairwell project is underway. We met last night for measurements etc. and it looks like we will have to make a few changes to our plan but nothing major. So, three weeks and those will be in, exposed on the one side and looking ....lovely I hope. We got a design plan for the kitchen but I like part of the design and not the rest. Too traditional for me. I know that the design proposed was probably what most would like and if I looked at it from a re-sale value then I would go with a design like that but I really do not want upper cabinets. He thought I was crazy when I said that.....Hmmmmm....wish I could afford that designer you see in H&H, Connie Braemar? I know she would get it.
Oh well, not in my budget....so I have another designer that will submit one for me in a few weeks. Alternative plan is to have a consultation with plumber to see if what I want is feasible given the present plumbing set up. There are exactly as many special occasions in life as we choose to celebrate. |

RE: Variations on WHITE
Keep us updated on the staircase, what an exciting project!
I do not decorate for ‘resale’ in my own home. I love what I love and I exercise my right accordingly........ I remember when we were in the planning stages of building this house; my then realtor commenting on a potential loss on resale if we ‘took out’ a fourth bedroom on the second floor. We hadn’t even broke ground yet. The room was written out and I have enjoyed a very nice sized MB because of it for 10 years. I love an unfitted kitchen in the right application and think your home is the perfect candidate. Are you adding shelving or leaving the walls empty? Was it just the upper cabs that the designer got wrong? |
