Are you ready
Is the house decorated the gifts wrapped and the shopping all done? Yes to all of those for me. I can't believe I am ready except for the last minute grocery shopping I didn't do any baking this year. I am a WW leader now and just don't want those things in the house and DH doesn't eat hardly any it is always left for me. I heard from everyone and the parcels have arrived safe and sound so now all I need to do is relax. Tomorrow is good hair day and a Pedi so I am looking forward to that day. Hope everyone is ready.

Ok here is a picture of the tree I don't do much else but I took the picture and I can't believe it turned out at night.
Ok that didn't work thepicture is to big does anyone know how to resize them on a Mac. I have it in IPhoto and not sure how to make it smaller.

Mac user to the rescue....too bad there isn't a smilie with a cape. Forget iPhoto and call up your Preview program (it comes with the Mac and is called 'preview' so check your applications menu). BTW, this does not work if you file is a PDF or some other format not usually found for images (like jpg, gif, png).

Here are the instructions from the help menu for Preview:

You can resize an image to make it fit into a particular spot.

To resize an image:

Choose Tools > Adjust Size.

Enter new values for width and height, or choose a common size from the “Fit into” pop-up menu.

To resize the image by a percentage, choose “percent” from the pop-up menu next to the Width and Height fields, and enter the percentage in those fields.

To ensure that the image keeps its original proportions, select “Scale proportionally.” If you change either the width or height, the other value changes to maintain the proportions. If you choose a size from the “Fit into” pop-up menu, the image’s width or height may be smaller than the chosen size to maintain the proportions.

To make the image’s dimensions smaller without losing any detail, deselect “Resample image” before changing the width or height.

To resize multiple images at the same time, display the images in the same window, select them in that window’s sidebar, and then choose Tools > Adjust Size.

I think I'm already here,I just wish it would warm up a little, it's like living in the North Pole here. Everyone is running around like crazy to store to store. I've learned to slow down now, just to do a little every day.

Life is like a marshmallow,it's easy to chew but hard to swallow.

Did you see the news tonight (I watch the Calgary channel here to see the weather...and smirk)? There is a chinook happening and all the temps are supposed to be rising right now. They say the roads stink because of the wind but such is life when warm weather is blowing in. Here's hoping they reach you so you get some relief quickly.

Yea, I saw that, I just love those warm chinooks from Calgary, we sure need it now, we go from one extreme to another around here.

RE: Are you ready
I'm sooo behind this year it's embarrassing!Blush
Got the tree up last weekend thankfully. We usually get a nobel fir but wanted something fuller this year so went with a Nordsmann fir. I'd never seen them before but wish I had! They're beautiful. Same characteristics as a nobel but fuller.
Have sort of decorated the family room area of the house but still need to do the living and dining areas. I decided to go with creamy whites, pale greys, chocolate browns and lots of sparkle this year. No red in the house other than a couple of poinsettias for hubby...
I'm a huge fan of natural greenery in the house! I love the smells and varied textures everywhere! Hate the cleanup and poor Hubby is sneezing more than usual but all worth it for the holidays!
Here's where I'm at so far...including my dining room mess.
No baking done yet unless you count pulling my butter from the fridge???lol

RE: Are you ready
Wow Teucer what a beautiful home you have.....tree looks great too! Jeep, your tree looks good too and so now I will reveal the typical Charlie Brown tree.
The Christmas tree is a real tradition around here. We head into the woods, search out the tree and then come home to decorate it as a family. Every year the kids buy a new ornament and attach a small tag to identify the year. So the tree is now filled with 18 ornaments from my son and 15 ornaments from my daughter.
We enjoy hors d'oeuvres and spend the evening decorating. My kids often chuckle when they compare our tree to others but we all agree it remains "unique" to our family.
Traditions....silly sometimes but wonderful at the same time.

There are exactly as many special occasions in life as we choose to celebrate.
